Decatur Community in Morning Art School

Posted in Morning Art-School Blog

We are so fortunate to be located here in downtown Decatur. We count this community as one of the great things about Color Wheel. It inspires us to holistically integrate community within our walls and out by participating in that reciprocal relationship which makes it possible. Plus, it makes for some fabulous field trips in Morning Art School!

Last year while studying buildings and architecture we were fortunate enough to tour the renovation of the old Decatur Fire Station No. 1. It was a wonderful field trip and the construction crew was so accomodating.

This year with the renovations finished the building looks fabulous and we were thrilled to be invited back to check it out! More exciting than the building, though, turned out to be the operation itself. Fire Stations are a stimulating place to be.

We saw the Fire Engines, the Fire Fighers, the Fire Captain and that iconic Fire Pole!
