Studio Art Survey – Fall Kids Classes – Monday Evenings – ages 8-12 years old

Class Title: Studio Art Survey: Rotating mediums including weaving, found-object mixed-media art, and paper-making & bookbinding.

Class Date: 8 sessions Starting Monday 9/9/24
all class dates: 9/9, 9/16, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4

Age: 8-12 years old

Following in the footsteps of our successful teen program, the Youth Studio Art Survey class will be taught by a rotation of teachers throughout the 8-week term.  The course will sample different mediums and techniques.  The objectives of this survey class focus less on final projects and more on fundamentals, methods of experimentation, and developing skills and approaches to making their own individual art.  This class is perfect for students that are passionate about creating in all mediums and learning how to strengthen their artistic foundation.  The Youth & Teen classes will sometimes have different mediums on offer and sometimes have similar ones.  The main difference is how the topics are taught and how deep into subject matter or skills they delve.  Where subject matter is similar, the youth classes may have simplified versions of the same projects or different projects altogether.
