We have so many fantastic artists at the studio, from the staff to the students.
Case in point: The Textiles Talents that that have taken Color Wheel by storm!
Kari Culberson, founder of Kari Fisher Designs, is a multi-talented Textiles instructor at the 508 Studio with many tricks up her sleeve.
In her own shop, Kari hand-prints linen textiles with blocks she carves herself. The results are stunning, as you can see here:

Recently, Kari invited the staff to preview her upcoming collection-in-progress at her home-studio. Hint: It’s gorgeous.
Not only is she a Textiles Maven, but Kari is also the driving force behind the Knitting Frenzy that has swept through the studio this Fall. Walk in on any given day and you’re bound to see more than one of us knitting away on some project or another.
Being a Lefty (oh, how we envy those truly right-brained individuals), Kari was in a unique position to teach one of our left-handed students, Vivian, her knitting techniques. During our Open House in February, Kari sat with Vivian and a ball of yarn, showing her how to knit, “South-Paw Style” and it clicked! Vivian has been knitting away ever since.
Many of Color Wheel’s young artists participated in the Decatur Arts Alliance’s YEA Event, where they made and sold their creations in a “market”. Vivian was there selling her new knit creations. She proudly announced to us that she sold out during the event!
Go, Vivian! We are so proud of you!!
