Community Projects

On-Going Projects:

City Schools of Decatur Partner in Education– Through our partnership with CSD, Color Wheel offers several scholarships per year in our after-school studio program. In addition, we make school break camp donations to each elementary school to raise funds for school programs. We are also involved in a variety of projects with CSD’s family social services department.

Decatur Arts Festival– Each year Color Wheel provides fun children’s arts activities during the arts festival.

Georgia After-School Investment Council- Color Wheel is a member of the After-School Quality Standards Committee acting as a stakeholder helping create the newly adopted Georgia After-School Quality Standards. These standards offer providers, families, and funders a framework to build a common language around what quality afterschool means. These new Georgia Afterschool Standards serve as a symbol of Georgia’s commitment to provide children, youth, and families access to quality programming that will enrich and support the positive development of young people in our state. More information can be found at GAIC’s website, www.afterschoolga.org.

Past Projects:

Quality Care for Children– In 2011 Color Wheel students created art work to hang permanently in the offices of Georgia’s Quality Care for Children.
